About This Course
APQP stands for Advanced Product Quality Planning. AIAG, the Automotive Industry Action Group (www.aiag.org), developed the APQP methodology to assure a standardized process for planning, developing, and communicating the requirements and status of new products throughout the automotive supply chain. The APQP process results in stronger relationships between suppliers and their customers resulting in reduced waste, lower costs and improved product quality. This APQP Advanced Product Quality Planning online training course will help practitioners use the latest version of the APQP process following the requirements in the AIAG APQP 3rd edition, applying the tools and concepts to the development of new products and the processes that make them.
The Advanced Product Quality Planning course consists of seven lessons and a self-assessment test (called a Challenge). Upon completion of the training, learners will be able to participate and contribute to the APQP process in their organization.
The initial lesson provides an overview of the AIAG APQP 3rd Edition process, focusing on Phase 0: Preparation (the Program Concept and Initiation Phase). The next five lessons cover the five primary phases of APQP process, and the final lesson recaps the the key points throughout the process. Competency is demonstrated with the successful completion of the Challenge. The training comes with a downloadable Reference Guide that recaps the key points of the content for the course.
Note: Our course is intended as a supplement, not a replacement, for the AIAG APQP 3rd Edition Reference Manual.
